We made it easy to develop your Highlight app locally without publishing it to the app store.

  1. Open the Highlight app (right click Highlight icon in menu/task bar, click “Open Highlight App”)
  2. Click “Settings” towards the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Click “Advanced” at the top bar.
  4. Select the toggle switch next to “Developer Mode”.

After completing these steps you will see a new “Local Development” app appear in your pinned apps (on the sidebar). By default, this will navigate to http://localhost:3000. The suggestions prompt URL will be http://localhost:3000/suggestions.hbs.

This Local Development app will have all the same behaviors and APIs as a published app. Now, get developing!

These values below can be used to test auth functionality through the Local Development app. Do NOT use these values for any production apps:
